She 40 years of experience in Western medicine and 20 years experience in Chinese medicine. She graduated from the College of Notre Dame with honors and then obtained her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the TAI-sophia school located in Laurel, MD. A separate 3 year program in chinese herbs was attended at the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture located in Florida.[/wpcol_1half_end]

Western medicine has a model of health and a model of diseases. Imagine if you will one end of a straight line being your health and the other end of that line being some type of disease process. Western or conventional medicine offers little in the way of therapeutic treatment for someone in the middle of this continuum. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on the other hand have a map, so to speak, of the middle. Through the use of this map, a landscape of symptoms, that might not mean anything to your doctor are very important to your acupuncturist. Through the observation of these clues, treatments help nudge the person back towards the healthy side of the continuum.
